BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. . Onlt a moderate amount of business was put through on the Stock Exchange yesterday, but the feeling for the larger mines y was somewhat better. Talismans were * distinctly firmer at opening, shares being * transferred at 38s 6d. More sales were made at this figure at the noon call, and at fc closing, after business had been reported s at 58s 6d, 38a 9d, buyers still offered 38s f 6d, sellers quoting 38s 9d. Waihis changed r hsjids at 36a, with buyers asking for more i at this figtire, sellers at 36s 6d. Waihi i Grand Junctions closed a point firmer than * on the preceding day, sellers quoting 235, V buyers 21s 93. During the day parcels were bought at 21s 9d. Waihi Pa eroos , : were disposed of at 375, with the balance of a parcel still for offer at that figure, best buyers naming 36s for their price. [Very few transactions were made in smaller priced stock. Occidentals were inquired for at Is ldj New Sylvias at sd, and Waiotahis at 2s 4d. Saxons sold at 9d. New Zealand Insurance was the only standard stock that resulted in sales, shares being twice bought at 975, without altering quotations, 97s 3d and 96s 6d standing for seller and buyer respectively.
