THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL.
VISIT TO AUCKLAND DISTRICT. ; The Hon. H. G. Ell, Postmaster-Genera!, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, and will spend a week in Auckland district examining the existing postal aJid telephonic facilities, with a view to extending their usefulness. This morning Mr. Ell will meet various Departmental officers, and afterwards, from 10 a.m. to one p.m., will bo at the Ministers' room, Government Buildings, to receive deputations. This afternoon and to-morrow ho will inspect the new postal buildings, and visit the various post offices j in the city and the suburbs. In the evenings! ho will leave for Hamilton on Departmental j business, and will afterwards visit Rptdrua to investigate a proposal to move the post office to a new site. On Friday, afternoon the Minister will open a new Doit office at Putaruru. He will then return to Auckland, and will leave for Wellington on Sunday evening. :.:,•:.
