RANGITIKEI CLUB'S CLAIMS. : [B2 TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. "] .*- Wellington, Friday. Tto Hon. G. W. Russell (Minister for Internal Affairs) received a deputation tonight from the Rangitikei Racing Club a«king for the restoration of the totalisator permit, taken away as the result of the Bating Commission's report. It was , pointed out that the Rangitikei Club was the fourteenth in importance in New Zealand. It had been in existence since 1854. The attendance at the last summer siting was 4500. Bulls (where the club's course is) and Marton would never amalgamate, as suggested by the Commission, those towns having nothing in common. The club had recently spent £8600 on land and buildings. The Minister, in reply, said the matter would be considered by Cabinet. If it was decided that the question of permits Wtio to be reviewed, there could be no doubt that the case of the Rangitikei Club must be entitled to very careful consideration.
