FATAL MINE EXPLOSION.

Constantinople, May 2. A tugboat in the Dardanelles, while inspecting the buoys, fouled a mine.

Four officers and 12 soldiers and members of the crew were drowned, through the explosion.

A cablegram published in the Australian papers states that the Italians have occupied the. islands of Imbros and Lemnos, opposite the entrance . to the Dardanelles, and intend to utilise them, as a base for their fleet. The message 4 p.150 that the Italians have occupied Chios Island, and Samos Island, 'in the JEgean Sea.
