An - account of a fight between a fullgrown tiger and a bulldog, _ which resulted in the death of the tiger, is given in' the Uitenhago (Cape Colony) Times. A tiger had taken refuge in a cave on a farm at the foot of Winterhoek Mountain in Cape Colony. A bulldog was fetched, and it at once rushed into the cave. A desperate struggle ensued. The dog was badly wounded by the tiger's claws, but it caught the tiger by the throat and did not let go until both rolled over as:if dead. .
