The display of cut blooms •was well up to the standard of previous shows, and the decorative sections were a special feature. The exhibition of fruit and produce was a very fine one. TE AWAMUTU. [FROM ova OWN CORRESPONDENT.} r A meeting of tho Town Board was held on Thursday last, there being present : Messrs. C. Bowden (chairman), A. 8. Wallace, S. Matthews, (Jr. White, and Dr. Reekie. Messrs. Von Stunner, and Collins waited on the Board as a deputation from the local Schorl Committee with reference to a proposal to erect the new school on one of the Board's endowments, situated on tho Station Road, containing: Jiorao five acres. In exchange the Board - was to have the present playgrounds. After discussion, it was decided to bring the proposal before the annual meeting of householders on Monday evening. Mr. Munro Wilson, consulting engineer, of Auckland, wrote stating that his report on tho water supply scheme would be forthcoining at an early date. The delay was caused owing to his waiting to obtain more information about the catchment area, and the time likely to be taken in the construction of the new bridge at the foot of tli 0 Pirongia Ranges. Mr. Blackman, engineer, of Musterton, forwarded plans of the streets in connection with the proposed gasworks. His report as to cost follow as soon as the Board approved of the plans submitted.
