Following the load of tho Chamber of Commerce, the Whanguroi County Council passed tho following resolution at its meeting to-day :— That, owing to the increased population, both in the county and borough of Whaagarei, it is the' opinion of this Council that tho tiroes has arrived for the Northern Steamship Company to provide better and , more up-to-date steamers to cater for the passenger and cargo service to the port of Whangarei ; and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the manager of the company, asking that effect be given to this resolution at an early date.
