NATIONAL TRAINING.
Sir, —The Government appears in a dilemma regarding punishment for evading tho provisions of the Defence Act. • Yet a remedy exists which is simplicity itself, viz., let tho Government publish the names of tho defaulters, giving them individually sufficient notice to present themselves at certain places, date, and hour to answer tho roll-calls, and give the services required. Then let those who disobey be handed over to those serving, who will find a practical means of abolishing their fads, and make them toe the lino and work shoulder to shoulder with them like men. Anti-Humbug.
