SOUTHERN ELECTIONS.
Further details of the elections ha the South are as follows :— Eltham : Mr. T. B. Crump, a member of the Council, the -was elected Mayor unopposed. Carterton : Mr. F. Feist was re-elected Mayor unopposed. Hokitika: Mr. G. A. Perry was elected Mayor. Ross : Mr. W. Bruco was re-elected Mayor. Kumara: Mr. J. A. Murdoch, was reelected Mayor. Hastings : Mr. James Garaetti was reelected Mayor. Lawrence: Mr. James Robertson was elected unopposed as Mayor of Lawrence for the fifth successive term. Lyttelton : The candidates for the Mayoralty are Messrs. M. J. Miller (retiring Mayor) and W. T. Lester. Masterton: Messrs. J. M. Coradine, the sitting Mayor, and T. Hoar have been nominated for the Mayoralty. Palmorston North : The, Mayoralty nominations are Messrs. J. A. Nash (present Mayor) and F. J. Na/Jaan. Ashburton : Mr. Henry .'Davis was reelected Mayor unopposed for the tenth successive year.
