STRENGTHENING OF FORCES.

The protecting Powers (Britain, France, Russia, and Italy) have decided to strengthen their forces in Cretan waters. Three French cruisers-have been ordered thither, with instructions to land a detachment of men, if such action is necessary, to protect Mussulmans, three of whom were recently murdered.
