Paeroa, Wednesday. A meeting of tho Paeroa Chamber of Commerce was held last night, Mr. W. MeWallers (vice-president) being in tho chair. It was resolved to ask the Government to place, a grant on the Estimates for a new post office at Paeroa, and to point out that the present post office is both small, inconvenient, and insanitary. The General Manager of the Railway Department wrote stating that the Department could not see it.-; way to beautify the Paeroa railway station grounds by planting tree.-, shrubs, etc., but offering to Ic.'.sp the grounds for beautifying purposes to the local body. II was decided to request the Department to have a large open (bain running through the station grounds piped. It was decided to ask the Public Works Department to proceed at once with the stop banks along the bank of the river, as recommended by the Silting Commission, so as to prevent the flooding of the town of Paeroa.
