AUCKLAND TOURING TEAM.

PRESENTATION TO THOMPSON. fUY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORMSPONDENT.] Wellington, Tuesduy. The members of the Auckland provincial representative cricket team left Wellington this morning, and will arrive in Auckland to-morrow morning. Prior to their departure, the team assembled to farewell M.-. G. J. Thompson, whose engagement lias now expired. On behalf of the team, Mr. L. G. Hcmus expressed to Mr. Thompson their appreciation of his sen-ices, attributing the victories of the tour to the successful manner in which he team had been coached by Mr. Thompson. He presented to the departing coach a set. of silver-mounted hair brushes, and for Mrs. Thompson a gold brooch. Mr. J. S. Dickson, M.P., also spoke. Mr. Thompson expressed his thanks for the presentation, and remarked that ho could not wish for a finer team to travel with than the Auckland representatives. Mr. Thompson will leave Wellington for England direct on March 1.
