Sydney, February 26. The steamer Aldenham, from the East, reports conveying four companies of Portuguese soldiers from Hongkong to tho island of Timor (partly owned by the Portuguese), to quell the rebellion.

When the steamer sailed from Timor about 600 soldiers were on. > the island,, and were rapidly establishing peace.
