MAYOR OF WANGANUI.
FELLING THE VACANCY. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Wangaxttt, Monday. A special meeting of the Borough Council was held to-night to elect a Mayor in place of Mr. C. E. Mackay, who resigned. Mr. E. N. Lippiton, the senior councillor and deputy-Mayor, was unanimously elected to fill tho position for the ensuing two months. Mr. Mackay announces that he will agree to requests to seek re-elec-tion in April.
