MORE INDICATIONS OF PEACE STRIKE LEADER OBSTINATE. MISSION TO THE SOUTH COAST. By Telegraph— Association.—Copyright. (Received February 26. 11.10 p.m.) Brisbane, February 26. It is reported that the wharf labourers are negotiating with the shipping companies with a view to resumption of work. The Bunbamba miners have decided to resume if the employers are agreeable. Mr. Coyne (chairman of the Strike Committee) denies the rumour that the committee has decided to order all the strikers, excepting the tramway employees, to resume on Tuesday. He declares that the miners and wharf labourers will remain out- as long as they are required to. Notwithstanding this deliberation, there are indications that the strike is ending. Work is preceding on the wharves steadily with free labourers. A steamer left on Saturday for the Gulf country, where sup plies are running short, no steamer having visited the port for five weeks. Sviinkv, February 26. . A repitentative of the Queensland strikers reports that as a result of his mission to the South Coast district the miners have promised to do everything possible to prevent coal being shipped for Brisbane district. The Miners' Association voted £200 to the strike fund. The wharf labourers are still holding up Brisbane steamers. Those sailing on Saturday took no cargo. The wharf men also decline to discharge vessels arriving from the northern jwrt.
