The Waihi, Katikati, and Tauranga territorials, comprising the D and E Companies., under Captains Gardiner and Moray, arrived in Waihi by special train vesteriiv afternoon from the camp of instruction at Allendale. In the evening the men paraded and attended Divine service at St. John's Anglican Church, where tho vicar, Rev. P. Geary, delivered an appropriate sermon. THAMES. . Buckingham, Baptist minister, who has served at Omaha for ' the last six years, has beep invited by the Baptist and Congregational Church, Thames, to the pastorate, and has signified his acceptance of the same. CAMBRIDGE. [KBOJI OUt OWN COBEESPOXDEXT.] Cambridge, Monday. , The monthly meeting of tho Cambridge Road Board was held at Cambridge on Saturday. Dr. Lewis wrote, stating that a portion of the Maungakawa Road from the French Pass Road to the confiscation ..' boundary had had very little done to it for a considerable time, and the Government looked to the Board to keep it in repair. The supervisor was instructed to inspect the road, and report upon its state to the next meeting. Mr. James Tavlor asked the Board to attend to the Flume Road continuation, which extends from Fcisst's Bridge to the confiscation boundary, and offered to contribute £10 towards the cost of making it. The Board decided that the work ".as necessary, and resolved to expend £20 i upon the work. The official plan of the Bald Hills Road was received, and it is now properly peg- ■ ged out on the ground. As much of the road is covered with high gorse it will be necessary for the adjoining owners to dear the some before work can be done upon it. The supervisor of roads reported that the following roads needed gravelling:— Ziz-xag Road, from Victoria Road to Bruntwood station, about one mile 480 yds; Victoria Road, from Ziz-zag Road to the Tamahere boundary, about two miles 960 yds; Harbutt's Road, from Victoria -Road to Goodwood, 200 yds; Fencourt Road, from the homestead to McCann's ■ Bridge, over a mile 600 yds; Thornton Road, about one mile 480 yds. It was decided to call for tenders for carting about 3000 yds of gravel on to the above roads. In the meantime , , the Board will decide what pits tho gravel shall ha obtained from. On Saturday the annual Sunday-school picnic in connection with St. Paul's Methodist Church at Cambridge was held in •the Leamington Domain. The attendance wag only fair. Games of all kinds were indulged in, and every child present received a prize.
