LAURIER AND HIS PARTY.

By Teifgraph.— Press Association.—Copyright Ottawa, February 24. Mr. Graham, ex-Minister, has been re-elected for South Renfrew, defeating Dr. Maloney, but His majority was reduced. Sir Wilfrid Laurier took a prominent part in the contest.

The re-election of Mr. Graham revives the rumour recently current in political circles that Sir Wilfrid Laurier was about to retire from the Leadership of the Opposition.

Shortly after the defeat of his party Sir Wilfrid declared that he would not lead tho Opposition, but other counsels prevailed. He pro* poses to retain his seat in Parliament.
