There has been a fair amount of both wheat and oats offering during the week, lno wheat market is firm, and sales have generally been marie at 3s 4d at country stations, and for specially prime and dry grain another halfpenny has been paid. The oat "market is easier in consequence of the falling off in the demand for Australia. During the middle of tho week 2s Id was paid at handy stations, but the outside limit of price is now 2s, at which a number of lots have been purchased. I hero is nothing fresh to report in tho barley market, only a limited business having yet been done. There is a firmer tone in the grass seed market, in consequence of the continued wet _ weather in Southland preventing tho sowing of tho crop there. The offerings of seed locally are not large, raid the bulk of what is coining forward is Italian. HIDES, SKINS AND TALLOW. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Limited, Auckland, report having hold their usual sale of hides, skins, tallow, etc., on Tuesday. Hides: .Market, tirm at late' rates.
