The Privy Council to-day refused an application- for leave to appeal in forma pauperis in the case Ah On versus the Attorney-General of New Zealand. '"'.'■', [Br TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIAUON. ] Napier, Thursday. Ah On, who, according to a cablegram, has been refused by the Privy Council leave of appeal in forma pauperis, was convicted of keeping a common gaming house, and was fined £20. Dolan and Ferguson brought the case before the Appellate Court in Wellington, when the Chief Justice referred to it as " a comedy of errors," but refused to quash the conviction. Mr. Jellicoe then appealed in forma pauperis., with the result stated.
