CHBisTCHTmcBr, Thursday*: The adjourned conference of ; delegates from the provincial centres of the Royal Life-saving Society was resumed to-day.. The special committee appointed presented the following draft of constitution for the proposed central executive :—• " That this body be termed the Dominion Executive of the Royal Life-saving Society; and that it be composed of six members, ' one to be elected by each head centre of the Royal Life-saving Society in New Zealand, members to be elected biennially ; (2) that it act as a distributing medium for all goods supplied by the Royal Life-sav-ing Society's headquarters, and all moneys granted for the general use of the society's in the Dominion that it act as Parliamentary committee to watch legislation af- / fecting the interests of the society; that it conduct propaganda work of the society throughout the Dominion; that it act as . umpire in cases of dispute between local head centres, and generally undertake all work which will not come into conflict with the present working of local head" centres; (3) that this constitution shall not' be altered, except at the annual confer-! ence of delegates, 10 clear weeks' notice of such alteration to be given to each head centre, and two-thirds majorit yto be rei quired to carry such alteration into effect." It 'waa proposed that the headquarters of the oen-t tral executive should be in Chxktchuich, ' and that ; a provisional executive should be( set up to draft by-laws for a permanent! , - executive- The suggestion was adopted., The following provisional executive was elected:—Messrs. K. S. Bassett, G. Bill* son, B. J. Ager, P.: A. Hornibrook, J. A"« Clarke, and W. Johnston.
