In the State Assembly, after Mr. Speaker Willis had declared that the Opposition's . censure motion (based partly on the Willis-Robinson incident) had lapsed, the House proceeded to business. * A Select Committee was appointed to inquire into the operations of the; Austra-' lian Jockey Club and its relations to horse , , ; racing in New South Wales. ,:v The Savings Bank Amalgamation Bill and the State Coal Klines Bill were re- :' introduced at the stages which they reached last session. Mr. Wade (Leader of the Opposition) declares that the Speaker's action in ruling the censure motion out of order (as being a censure on the .Speaker) is a revelation to students of procedure. As soon as ' the Assembly met, Mr. Levien gave notice that he would move tomorrow, "That Mr. Speaker Willis does not possess the confidence of the House." This was greeted with Opposition cheers.
