ANTI-BRITISH BOY SCOUTS.
COST OF BELFAST DISPLAY.
(Received February 21, 9.45 p.m.)
London, February 21. In reply to a question in the House of Commons, the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Mr. Birrell, admitted the existence of Irish Nationalist boy scouts, who were pledged to work for Ireland's independence, and never to join the English armed forces. Asked whether the Government would suppress such a disloyal association, Mr. Birrell replied that he did not think they should begin with the boys. In reply to another question, the Under-Secretary for War, Colonel Seely, stated that the cost of sending the troops utilised in connection with Mr. Churchill's Belfast speech was £2700.
