ENDEAVOUR TO HEAL BREACH
GOVERNOR AND WARNER ASSIST.
By ph.—Press Association.—Copyright Sydyet, February 21. A conterenck between Lord Chelmsford, Governor of New South Wales, Mr. P. F. Warner, captain of M.C.C. team, and the six dissatisfied cricketers (Hill, Trtimper, Armstrong, Eansford, Cotter, and Carter), was held yesterday to endeavour to arrange a settlement of the dispute regarding the manager of the team for England.
The outcome of the meeting was not divulged. To-day is the last for accepting the invitation.

A deputation of cricket enthusiasts has asked Mr McGowen, State Premier, to mediate between the Board of Control and the dissatisfied players. The Premier commissioned the deputation to inform both parties that he was willing to do anything possible to secure a settlement of the dispute.
Up till a late hour to-night none of the six had forwarded their acceptances. The time closes at midnight, but if an acceptance comes to hand to-morrow morning by post it will be received.
TASMANIA DEFEATS VICTORIA. Hobart, February 21.
The Tasmanian cricketers defeated Victoria by one run. The visitors required 309 to win and were dismissed for 307.
