A lakoe audience again, filled His Majesty'a Theatre last evening, and the members of Brennan's Vaudeville Company were greeted with a good deal of hearty applause and frequent demands for encores. New songs, dances, and sketches were submitted with complete success, and many of the turns provoked irresistible laughter. Miss Eva Mudge, Jordan and Harvey, and Johnson and Wells were most popular with the audience. The entertainment will be repeated this evening.

Tha box plans for Allan Hamilton's season, . commencing at His Majesty's Theatre on Monday evening next, will be opened at Wildman and Arey's thia morning, and the excellent nature o'f th attraction should secure good booking. W. W. Jacobs' delightful farce, "Beauty and the Barge " will form the opening bill of the season, and from air accounts to hand an excellent production is assured- ' This popular play was produced by the Broughs some years ago, and some Australian critics say the Allan Hamilton Company's interpretation of the comedy does not suffer by comparison with that of the older company, but even compares .more than favourably with it. The scenery by Harry Whaite is said to be delightfully artistic. VON ARX. Von Arx, the world's greatest illusionist, has captured Hamilton and Cambridge, and will mystify Waihi to-night and tomorrow. Thames will have the privilege of seeing the necromancer on Saturday. NEWBURY-SPADA CONCERTS. , Mr. Philip Newbury announces a new season of popular concerts. The popular tenor, in addition to the support of Madame Spada, Herr Raimund Peehotsch, Mr. Harold Gregson, and others, has engaged Miss Mabel Seccombe, whose debut was so successful last Saturday. WEST'S PICTURES. . * West's Pictures at the Royal Albert Hall, Albert-street, continue to meet with popular approval. Last evening, when.. a change of programme was presented, there was again a good attendance, and each successive series of pictures was greeted with applause. Several of the pictures were of outstanding merit, the most notable of these, perhaps, being that en-, titled "Road-hogs in Toyland. (In,, this the audience were treated to-; a drama enacted entirely by mechanical toys in the; most . weird and interesting fashion. " Cure for Crime," a comic study, proved another refreshing picture, being conspicuous for. its originality and not being overdone. " A Hustled Wedding," another comic film, depicting the trials ; of ] a man who, without notice, was obliged to get married within an hour to secure an inheritance, also created a good deal of amusement. Other pictures ■ shown were "Pathe's Animated Gazette," " The Kiss of Mary Jane" (dramatic), "Norwegian Scenery ' (scenic), '"'Central African Views (scenic). "Kit Carson's Wooing" (dramatic)," Fauna of Tropical Rivers" ,(educational), and "Kelly as Gus Worker " (comic). The same programme will be given to-night, ! AUCKLAND BROTHERHOOD. A concert in aid of the Auckland Brotherhood was given in the East-street Hall, Newton, last evening. There was a large, attendance, and an excellent, programme was presented. Those who contributed were Misses Doreen D'Authreau, Evans, l Carlsen (2), and Wilson, Mrs. D'Authreau, and Messrs. C. Cutler, ■Hoffman, T. T. Garland, 0. E. Farrow, Dimmery (2),. Booth, and Carlsen. Mr. F. A. Faulks acted as accompanist. OPERA HOUSE. The Fasola Novelty Company is drawing large audiences to the Opera House. The mystic feats of Fasola are proving highly interesting. PICTURE ENTERTAINMENTS. The MacMahon and Lodder management will at the Queen's Theatre present to-day the lawns, ie paddock, the birdcage, the stands, the flat, and the crowds at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.- Any person who witnessed Santa Rosa win the Auckland Cup can see themselves as others see them atthe Queen's Theatre day and night till further notice, The several interesting picture subjects being presented at the King's Theatre m the current programme are attracting large and appreciative audiences. ; : • •, The Lyric Theatre drew another large audience last night, and the fine programme presented proved highly interesting and enjoyable. ' : ' The exclusive pictures at the Xing George theatre are a very fine lot, and the large _ audience present last evening testified its appreciation by frequent applause. " r % ' The Newton Picture Palace was well patronised throughout yesterday. There will be an " all-white " evening at the Prince's Rink to-night. • °
