FINE DISPLAY OF FAT CATTLE.

lUbtbbtox, Wednesday. THE twenty-fifth annual show of the Mastcrton A. and P. Association was opened yesterday in fine weather, and with a satisfactory attendance. Visitors were enthusiastic over the splendid show of fat stock. The fat cattle were held by competent judges to be superior to anything previously seen in New Zealand.

Championships were awarded as follows: —Lincoln ram, trustees of the late D. Monaster; English Leicester ram S. It. Lancaster, owe 8. R. Lancaster; Border Leicester, ram Slack Bros., owe T. W. Wardell; Komney Marsh, ram A. L. Wheeler, owe J. A. Hewitt; Southdown, ram A. J. Stonewig, ewe Nelson Bros.; Shropshire, ram and ewe, H. D. Vavasour. Cattlo: Purebred Shorthorn bull and cow, W. C. Buchanan; Hereford bull and cow. Ernest Short; Ayrshire bull and cow, R. c. Fowler: Jersey bull, K. Eagle, jun., cow S. R. Lancaster; Holstein Priesan bull and heifer, W. J. Lovelock. Horses: Thoroughbred, W. McCullough's Conqueror; draughts, J. D. Mitchell's Here I Go first, E. Short's Royal Treasure second.
