TE AWAMUTU.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] A meeting*, of delegates from the various clubs and friendly J societies took place on Thursday evening hist for • the purpose of discussing the prooosal to hold a monster carnival in Te Awamutu next Easter. Mr. Bowden, chairman of the Town Board, presided and some thirty odd delegates were present. A great deal' of discussion took place, the general opinion being that it would be more feasible to hold the carnival next year, there not being sufficient time between this and Easter for such an undertaking to be worked up, and that a great deal of money would be required for the'carnival. It was finally resolved to adiourn the meeting for a week bo asto* enable the delegates to again confer with their clubs and societies.
