STOCKS AND SHIRES.

BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. A moderate amount of business was transacted on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In mining lines Waihis showed a further decline, parcels of shares being exchanged at from 44s to 42s 6d to 425, with later sellers at 42s and buyers at 41s 9d. Transactions took place in Waihi Grand Junctions at 26s 3d and 265, more being inquired for at 263, with sellers quoting 26s 3d. Talismans were a, little easier, shares being sold at 50s 9d, with further supplies available at that figure, buyers offering 50s 3d. In investment stocks sales were recorded in South British Insurances at 725, and more were sought after at 71s 6d, sellers holding for 72s 6d.
