Minerva will leave Auckland at 10 a.m. to-morrow for Howick, leaving there on the return trip at 4.30 p.m. ,„„„i The Auckland grocers' assistants annual picnic will be held at Pine. lsland on Wednesday next. . An extensive sports programme has been arranged, and > includes married ladies' race, single ladies. trades, wheelbarrow, and ' children's races, and tUK-of-war. in all of which.events valuable prizes will bo awarded. The Newton Brass Band will be in attendance. The s.s. Kestrel will leave the Northcote ferry tee at nine a.m. and 1.30.p.m.
