AMOKURA'S USUAL .VISIT.
[DT TELEGBAPH.—OWN COERESPOXDKKT.] Wellington, Saturday. The Government training ship Amokuri will leave on Tuesday evening on a perio dical visit to the Kermadec Islands. Sine the Bell family relinquished their holdinj on the occasion- : o£ the last visit of th vessel to Sunday Island, where they ha< resided for very many years, the Kerma decs Have been uninhabited. The islands, which, lie north-east o Auckland, close to the route of steamer trading between Auckland and the.Fij and Cook Islands, do not present many at tractions for settlement, mainly on ac count of the hilly nature of the country The mission of the Amokura is to searcl for castaways and to examine the depots She will go" direct from Wellington to thKermadecs, returning via Auckland.
