STATE SUGAR AND IRON.

By Telegraph.— Association.— Hobart, January 12. The conference of the Federal Labour party passed a motion that in the event of constitutional power being obtained a national sugar refinery should be established. It was also agreed that publiclyowned ironworks were an urgent necessity. It was decided to send a letter of fraternal greetings to the Social Democratic party in Germany, wishing it success at the elections. A motion that members of State Parliaments should be eligible to contest seats in the Federal Parliament without resigning was carried.
