WHY THE FLEET WENT TO SEA
WILHELMSHAVEN STORIES. (Received December 19, 11.15 p.m.) Berlin, December 19. The newspapers publish further stories bearing on the alleged danger that, during the Anglo-German crisis, threatened Wilhelmshaven as a naval base. It is stated that the. reason why the German fleet remained at sea was not to guard against a sudden onslaught. It was that the fleet dared not enter Wilhelmshaven Harbour for fear of being imprisoned there.
