.- ; NEWCASTLE FAIRWAY LIGHTS. . Some time ago it was pointed out that the fairway towers on the hill, intended to mark the entrance to Newcastle Harbour, were not in line and; were- in consequence .misleading. The Navigation "Department recognised the position and applied to. the Treasury for authority to erect another white fairway, tower, 900 ft from the present red tower. - The authority has now been granted, and the work of erecting the new tower in Wolfe-street will be proceeded with. When the tower is erected it will be of great convenience to those- navigating the port. - {
