Importers and others doing business with tho above Board are notified that the Board has adopted the following By-law. which comes into force on Ist January, 1912: — 1. No credit shall be given for any harbour dues payable to the Board except in accordance with tho following provisions : 2 (ai Any payor of dues may make application to the Board in the form in the schedule hereto to be allowed ' credit for harbour dues not exceeding in the. aggregate at any time tho aggregate amount of harbour dues paid by such payer of dues daring the two months immediately preceding tho lodging of tho application. (W In such application shall lie stated the names of the surety or sureties proposed,. (c) Ono incorporated company may in the discretion of the Board be accepted as a surety, but if the sureties proposed are individuals they shall not be less than two in number. (di The Board may in its discretion by resolution consent to or refuse any application, or consent to the same, tor a lesser amount than that mentioned in the application. (e) The period of credit (if any) to be given shall in each case be determined by the Board, but shall not exceed two calendar months. (fi No such consent shall become operative until the applicant has given the requisite security, which shall bo a properly stamped guarantee for the amount of credit consented to, executed -by the applicant and a surety or sureties approved by the Board in a form approved by it, and all expenses in connection with such surety shall bo borne by the applicant. (c) The Board may in its discretion at any time by resolution revoke its consent to tho giving of credit for farther dues to any person or company cither at the request of any surety or of its own motion. 3. In these By-laws the expression "harbour dues" means and includes all harbour dues as defined by "The Harbours Act. 1908." namely, any due, rate, fee. toll, tux, pilotago rate, port charge, or payment in the nature thereof, payable or leviable under the said Act or a special Ct * 11.
