ADVENTURE WITH A SNAKE.

Miss D.usy Neville, of Avondale, near Dapto (N.S.W.), had an unpleasant experience with a snake last week. She heard a, rustling noise, but thinking it was a rat or mouse, took no notice. In the morning she got up and went about her duties as usual, but on returning to her room was horrified to see a largo black •snake lying across a pillow on the bed, where it had evidently crawled after uno had left the room. A farm hand was summoned, and a shot from a gun settled the intruder. It was evidently the snake that had caused the rustling under the bed.
