The Leader of the Independent Nationalists, Mr.' Wm. O'Brien, speaking at Cork (his stronghold), declared that the Government's Manhood Suffrage Bill would be a serious obstacle to Home Rule.
This proposed extension of the franchise, said Mr. O'Brien, meant a reference to the country, when the Liberals would be smashed owing to the unpopularity of the National Insurance Bill.
