JUVENILE OFFENDERS.

Sir,—ln reply to " Sympathiser " referring to the imprisonment of a young lad for one month, iet me inform him and others that, as lar as possible, care is taken to keep such a ono quite apart from the other..' inmates of the gaol. I much regret the sending of lads, of 16, 17, and 18 to such a place, but it is doubtful if the alternative proposal of, e.g., 12 months* reformative treatment, would have any better result. I am behind the scenes, and can assure v Sympathiser " we do everything possible as in this case guard and help these young offenders. Ed. 0. IiUDD, Chaplain.
