A successful Christmas-tree and social for the Sunday-schol children was held -in the foresters' Hall, Birkenhead, last Friday,- the spacious building being crowded. .The vicar, the Rot. F. W. Young, presided. Father Christmas (Mr. Bicknell) : was most fcenerous in his distribution of gifts to the children; and was ably assisted by a dainty little fairy (Miss L Spurting), while ; tho town crier" . (Mr. C. Bicknell), . dressed 40 « clown, kept thflr littleonee amused.
