BATTLESHIP ZEALANDIA.

By Telegraph.—Pre's Association.—Copyright. London, December 3. At Portsmouth Lady Hall-Jones renamed the battleship, New. Zealand, naming it Zealandia. There was a large gathering, of officers and New Zealanders.

The New Zealand, with seven other ships, is ranked as a second-class battleship. She was launchod in 1904, and is somewhat inferior to the Lord Nelson and Agamemnon (1906), for though each class has four 12in grins, the Lord Nelson carries ton 9.2 in, against the New Zealand's four 9.2 in and ten 6in. The change of names is due to tho desire to appropriate tho name Now Zealand for our gift-Dreadnought.
