STOCKS AND SHARES.

BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. Business was not very brisk on the Stock Exchange yesterday. Waihis were easier and sold freely at from 55s 9d to 55s 6d to 55s 9d. There were moro shares available at the last-mentioned price, but buyers only offered 55s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions remained at about. Saturday's quotation, sales being recorded at from 29s 3d to 29s 6d to 29s 3d. Later sellers asked 29s 3d, but buyers' quotation was 295. Waiotahis sold at 5s 3d and 5s sd, the closing quotation being : Sellers 5s 6d, buyers 5s 4d. Occidentals changed hands at Is sd, and more were wanted at that price, but holders asked Is fid. Waitnngis were firmer, sales being made at from os 2d to 3s 3d to 3s 2d. There was later a demand for shares at 3s 2d, but sellers asked 3s 3d. In investment stocks Northern Coal shares were bought at 10s 6d, and Auckland Gas (old) changed hands at 695.
