Saturday, the birds being liberated at 'seven a.m.. at Wellington— air lino dlstanco of 277 miles in all.; Altogether 33 birds took part, but the climatic conditions were unfavourable, and , the only pigeon to arrive on Saturday was Mr. F. Russell's Dainty (hen), which reached Waihi at 5.25 p.m., tho velocity being 781 yd* i>er minute. Several birds ; arrived on Sunday . morning. '■ *•' ■ ,
