A wklt.-kxown- settler of Grey town named John Cotter was motoring from Palmerston North to-day, and when about fivo miles to the north of Masterton Ilia car became unmanageable. . The motorist was descending a. hill at the time, 'and his car went over the embankment. Cotter jumped from the car, and. fell on his head, breaking his neck, ono arm, and sustaining scalp wounds.
