HOME MANICURING.
Most women nowadays pay a daily visit wall Park an area right alongside its old to the professional manicurist. The excellent results so obtained are certainly worth the time and expense involved, but the woman whose pin-money does not allow of luxuries must be responsible for her own daily manicure. Somo nails grow very quickly, -and in this case j the ' tile should.)be: in daily use, the nails being trimmed to the shape of the finger-tips. Some years ago, fashion required that the nails should be filed to a point, but this vogue was too pronounced to have much . success, ana tie present mod© is to cultivate the rounded nail. The emery board should bo used to smooth the edges of the nails after they have been filed to the desired uhape. The cuticle which grows at the base of the nail is always a source of trouble to tho beginner in home manicuring. This should on no account-be pushed back until tho finger tips have been thoroughly soaked in warm soapsuds. 'After the soaking the cuticle should be gently pressed down with a pointed orange stick, as any sharp metal instrument used for. this purpose spells ruination to the frame of the nails, causing the skin to crack and chap. When the cuticle has been disposed of, a, little grease rouge should then be applied to the surface of the nails with a piece of chamois leather, and the nails polished, with: a " buffer" which has been dipped in powdered oxide of zinc. v /
