PRIZES FOR FIRST ' MEETING.
fpT TEI.EGBAPR.—PRKSS ASSOCIATION. ). Wellington*. 'I hursday. ' A meeting of tho 'newly-formed Rifltj Association was held to-night, when a programme for the prize meeting to be held at Trentham on January 1 and 2 next was drawn up. The officer commanding the district wrote stating ho was recommending that passes to competitors travelling by rail should bo issued. Generous offers of support, were received from all local rifle clubs. Cash prizes to the value of £170 will be allocated for the six matches; in addition to valuable trophies. Tho first prize in the championship aggregate will be £10, and there will be numerous other large prizes. - Tho first prize in each match will be £4 4s, and the second £3. It is many years since such a generous programme has been issued, and the association is anticipating entries'from all parts of the Dominion. Young shots have not been neglected, and in addition to tyro prizes there will be a tyro aggregate.
