THE GOLD RETURNS.

LAST MONTH'S- TOTAL, £83,996.

£955,854 FOR TEN MONTHS.

The returns reported from tho gold mines in the Auckland district during the past month reached a total of £83,996 ss. This, when compared with the aggregate for tho previous month, namely, £94,652 8s 4d, represents a decrease of £10,656 3s 4d. As compared with the total for tho corresponding month of last year, the past month's yield shows a falling-off of £17,105 10s 2d, the total for that period being £101,102 3s 2d.

Tho past month's yield completes the figures for the first ten months of the 1911 year, and brings the total value of the bullion produced in tho Auckland district during the period to £955,854 13s 7d, as against £1,125,734 10s 9d for the corresponding period of last year.

DIVIDEND PAYABLE TO-DAY. DISTRIBUTION OF £49,590. The Waihi Gold Mining Company's 75th dividend of 2s per share for the quarter will be distributed to-day. This will absorb £49,590 Is, and will bring tho total payments to shareholders in the company to £4,334,252 8s Bd. There are 2210 shareholders on the colonial register of the company, .holding 146.465 ; shares, and thev will receive £14,646 10s. . The total value of the bullion won from the mine to date is £9,684,419. WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. The following cable in amplification of the one sent on the previous day, was yesterday forwarded to the London office of the Waihi Grand Junction Co. :— "Main south-east crosscut from No. 1 shaft, No. 6 level. Cut Empire lode 45ft further to the east than main south-east crosscut from No. 1 shaft, No. 5 level." WAITANGI CONSOLIDATED. The following telegram has been received from tho manager of the Waitangi Consolidated mine, Thames " Adams wires struck reef; bored sft into ouartz; big flow of water; good country.. ' * The following. message has also been received:—"Adams wires cut 4ft into reef, showing little mineral; no gold seen." • MOUNTAIN KING. The manager of the Mountain King mine, Kuaotunu, telegraphs:—" Low level, break down, looks exceedingly well; gold seen freely."
