NEW GERMAN PROGRAMME
TWO BIG CRUISERS A YEAR. By Tolesrrauh.—Press Association.—Copyright Berlin, November 26. Tire Kiel Ncustc Nachrichten states that the extra naval programme, costing l~\ millions sterling, will be spread over seven years. It includes a battleship and two armoured cruisers yearly, instead of the battleship and one armoured cruiser originally provided by the Navy Law. The present German navy law provides for laying down annually, * from 1912 to 1917, ono battleship and one armoured cruiser. According to the Kiel Neuite Nachrichten. tho now Bill will double the number of cruisers annually—two instead of one. That would mean five or six additional armoured cruisers, probably costing nearly £2,000,000 each. For some time the German big navy advocates have .complained, that, the deficiency, in big.?«ruiser§J as compared with Britain, is greater than in big battleships, and they have demanded an enlarged programme as a remedy.
