QUEEN'S THEATRE.
These is every indication that the enterprise displayed by Messrs. MacMahon and Lodder in building a handsome theatre at the foot of Queen-street is going to be well rewarded. The policy of the • firm in giving the best that can be obtained in the moving picture .world in a handsomely-equipped theatre for the nominal admission of 6d has proved oxtremely popular, and yesterday, from 11 o'clock in the morning until 11 o'clock at night, a moving throng of people was continually going to and from the Queen's Theatre. The programme of pictures given is a magnificent one, and their perfect projection forms the topic of general eulogi&tic remark, the absence of flicker adding to the effectiveness of the subjects depicted. Chief among the films is the splendid Pa the dramagraph, "Napoleon's Last Days at St. Helena." This subject is probably one of the finest of moving picture dramas that has been exhibited her',, and enthusiastic applause greeted its appearance throughout the day. Ihe numerous other pictures in a varied pr > gramme wero all of sterling merit, and ye ected credit on those who were responsible for the selection. Evidently the Queen's Theatre has established itself es a popular Auckland institution, for it is estimated that fully 3000 people were present yesterday. The "continuous" house of entertainment will be open again today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
