PURE FOOD REGULATIONS.
THE RETURNED LOAF.
SEVERAL amended regulations have been issued under the New South Wales Pure Food Act dealing with flour and bread. A prohibition has been added against bleaching and spraying flour at any stage of its production. « It is also provided that selfraising flour '.shall be flour conforming with the standard: tor floor to which the ingredients of baking powder have been added. A new regulation says that no person who sells bread shall take back any- bread which has ' been delivered, except for resale. This means that if a loaf has been delivered to a house it may not be taken back by the baker, but if it has been supplied to a small shop for sale the return is permissible, and is a matter of arrangement between the wholesale baker and the retail seller. {
