DR. MAWSON'S EXPEDITION By Telegraph.. Association.Copyright. Sydney, November 11. Dr. Mawson is still £9000 short of the sum required for his Antarctic expedition, the total promised, including stor.es, amounting to a little over £40,000. In speaking at the. Royal Society's reception Dr. Mawson said that he had no great anxiety over the- deficit, because he thought certain States, which had not yet' contributed, would do so when they saw what good work was being done. The Japanese Vice-Consul, in replying to the toast of "Success to the Japanese Expedition, referred to the brotherhood of science, which made no discrimination, of race or colour. All had one common aim, the advancement of humanity.
