ENTERTAINMENTS.
"THE GAY GORDONS." The second representation of the bright musical play "The Gay Gordons" was given at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday evening, and afforded excellent entertainment to a large number of playgoers. Throughout the evening merriment reigned supreme, and the excellent musical numbers met with hearty appreciation. The fins scenic effects were also much admired, particularly the dawn scene at the opening. The play will be repeated this evening.
AUCKLAND CHORAL SOCIETY. The society in future will present all their works in the Town* Hall, and the first occasion will be at the opening festival of tho big hall, when the "Messiah" will be given. An advertisement appears in another column inviting applications for places in the chorus and orchestra. The first rehearsal of the above-mentioned work will take place at the Choral Hall on Tuesday night.
