YACHTING. PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB." The Fonsonby Yscht and Launch Crui®» ing Club will hold its first cruising race fof yachts and launches to-day, the course 'being from off St. Mary's Beach, finishing at Station Bay, Motutapu if off the wind. If on the wind, the race will finish at Drunken Bay, between the yacht Heartsease and a dinghy. Entries and handicaps for the yachts arc as follow:—Glady, on wind scratch, off wind scratch; Watch, 2m., l^m.; Mistletoe, 2m., l£in.; Ranee, 4im., 2m.; Foam, 4jm., lim.; Acrasia, 9m. 6m.; Alice, 16m., 5m.; Waitangi, , 21m., 9m. The entrants for the launch race are: —Kotiro, Kotiri, Tamahine, Marorc, Irenes and May. The handicaps will be declared this morning. Mr. Butler will be starter, and Mr. W. Wilson judge and timekeeper. NOTES AND COMMENTS.

The advent of the . warm weather is creating a general exodus from the various beaches. The yachts Maroondah, Ida, and Rawene were launched from King Edward Parade on Saturday. The Rawene waa towed to Ponsonby by a launch immediately she floated.

On _ Sunday the yachts Speedwell and Wniriki were launched at St. George's Bay. The keel yacht Mahoc and the . 26ffc mullet-boat. Cclox have also Deen launched at St. George's Bay. Tho 26ft mullet-boat Arawa was hauled up on Saturday at Queen's Parade. She is to have a new keel put in, and is to receive a thorough overhaul. The yacht Mandolin spent the week-end at Drunken Bay. She came back on Sunday with three reefs down, and made splendid weather of it.

After launching on Saturday tho Ida was out, and was sailing in her usual good form. She was out again on Sunday. Mr. G. S. Norris has launched his new 22ft centreboard craft, which he has named the Nada.

Mr. J. 0. Macky's yacht Ilex is being got ready at Devonport. The small launch Flo' was put into the water at Queen's Parade on Friday ovening. The yachts Miro, Lina, and Kaipara have been launched at Freeman's Bay. The Miro, which was sold to a Dunedin resident, was shipped away by steamer.
